I first met Stephanie through a mutual friend in June of 2019 and called her to see if she could share some knowledge with me about the publishing world. I had been querying literary agents and not having any luck. Meanwhile, my beta readers were giving me great feedback on the novel and so I was at a loss as to what my next step should be. I knew I needed an education because it all felt daunting and frustrating.

When Stephanie and I first spoke I explained that my first novel, based on the life of my ancestor, was finished and edited, and that I had two more books coming to complete the series. I wanted so much for this dream of mine to be fulfilled, and to see Robert’s story out in the universe. We had a wonderful conversation and connected on the same level right away. Stephanie asked me to provide her with a sample and synopsis of my book, which I sent her right away.

It is always nerve-wracking when you provide a new person with your creative work and so I sat on pins and needles for a few weeks until we were able to schedule time to go over it. Our second conversation set us on the path to work together to publish the series. In just a few weeks I learned so much about the publishing process and we were immediately brain-storming promotional ideas. Now, only 6 months later, my book was launched for the world to see.

Working with Stephanie has been a marvelous experience. Every step of the process was explained in detail and we moved through each phase in a thoughtful and methodical way. Holding my book in my hand and seeing it in the marketplace is a most extraordinary feeling; I can hardly describe it. I have learned so much and am eternally grateful to Stephanie for believing in this project and helping me bring it to fruition.
